Principal IT Analyst ITAM – Flexera One

Job Description:

The IT Hardware Asset Management, Principal Solution Analyst is responsible for ensuring technology solutions address business requirements and achieve the identified business outcomes.

The position has a combination of strong business acumen, application domain knowledge and the ability to communicate effectively in both technical and business language.

This role will assist subject matter experts with gap analysis / process definition and system enhancements.

The focus is to build a solution and configure ITAM platform technologies by taking business requirements and configuring the systems to support the business requirements.

They assist with educating the IT team on the goals of the business and assist with facilitating communication and alignment between functions and IT from the gathering of initial requirements to final implementation.

This person may also manage process conformity, compliance, and is responsible for the development of business and technical process documentation and training materials for Hardware Asset Management.

The Principal IT Analyst Asset Management Hardware will support the day to day activities of a team to deliver HAM Services .

They will lead and collaborate with analyst from Managed Services environment.

They are responsible for ensuring all the SLO for tracking hardware throughout their lifecycle, support the sign-off of deliverables, and monitor key performance indicators.

Primary Responsibilities

Drive the collection of required information to develop Hardware Asset Management framework for ITAM, including process, technologies, reporting on SLOs and KPI

Conduit into the detail required from the Procurement team.  Understand current state procurement systems, processes, and data sources, and gather and source contractual, purchase and spend data required to build an effective hardware baselines ion.

Asset type owner and assignment maintenance working with Infrastructure and Business Teams.

Serve as liaison between Divisions/Functions and IT on projects and enhancements

Set and Communicate Policies and manage yearly re-validation.

Coordinate Governance, Processes and Escalation Management

Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of lifecycle data relating to hardware assets

Track hardware and maintenance data in support of refresh as well as end of life processes and projects

Manage preparation and distribution of pre-defined reports

Participate in process maturity assessments and own the execution of plans.

Supporting leadership and holding accountable the managed services for contractual obligations on reporting, objectives, and key performance indicators

Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual executive reviews for stakeholders

Coordinate issues resolution activities with varied stakeholders

Participate in seminars, trade shows and oversee internal demonstration facilities etc.

Develop meeting structure and present at meetings

Determine opportunities to redesign business processes to achieve better business results

Educate the IT team on the goals of the IT Asset Management Hardware Asset Management workstream

Drive the development of business and technical process documentation and training materials

Lead the definition of project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases, and elements; assist with project budget needs

Lead the monitoring of project progress by tracking activity, resolving problems, publishing progress reports, and recommending actions

Understand, communicate and reinforce standard business process concepts

Establish and maintain relationships with team members within IT and across functional teams

Assess situations, determine the problem(s) and propose a solution that provides value to the business

Skillset / Experience:

Principal Analyst ITAM

Specialized Skills and Technologies

Familiar with IT Asset Management Technologies

FLEXERA One configuration, developing reports and dashboards

SQL and database administration experience

Knowledge of Purchasing, ITSM and CMDB technologies

IAITAM Certification, such as CHAMP or CITAM

Experience with ITSM or ITAM Hardware Solutions or Services within Data Center or End-user devices

Minimum Qualifications

5+ years of work experience in a business or technology role working closely with functions inside and outside of IT understanding business processes and needs

Experience with ITSM or ITAM Hardware Solutions

Knowledge of the various technical operating systems (RHEL, Linux, Mac, Windows) with discovery tools and device inventory tools

(SSCM,ILMT). Microsoft stack of technologies (including SQL Server, Windows, Active Directory

Experienced in coding of operating systems to reconcile the discovery data. VB Scripting / .NET programming / Shell Scripting,

Knowledge of ETL tools / Reporting/BI Tools, SQL /SFTP/ SAML

Proven ability and experience in executing strategic asset management processes successfully

Possess a solid understanding of hardware asset management policies, procedures and best practices

Experience using industry standard ITAM solutions like Flexera SNOW or Eracent

Experience working in a Managed Services environment

Strong technical skills in VB Scripting, .NET programming, Shell Scripting, ETL tools is a must.

This person understands emerging technologies and can identify opportunities to automate and standardize business processes.

The role will require prior experience in IT Asset Management – HAM and the functions that support hardware life-cycle management.

The Principal Solution analyst must have Knowledge of backend coding of operating systems to reconcile the discovery data.

The person would have the skills required to be the administrator for ITAM/SLM Gartner top quadrant tools, VB Scripting, .NET programming, Shell Scripting, ETL tools.

Ability to create solutions for reporting, BI Tools, SFTP and SAML.

An understanding of End Point Management and inventory toolsets such as SCCM, SolarWinds, etc.
